Setup guide
Here's how to get your family's videos onto the Heirloom Orb. You'll need a computer and the USB cable from the box. Most people do this once, before they wrap it.
1. Charge the orb
Plug the orb into a USB charger or a computer with the cable from the box and let it charge before you start.
2. Move your videos from your phone to a computer
The orb doesn't connect to phones. Send the videos you want to your computer first, for example with AirDrop, email, Google Photos, iCloud, or a phone cable.
3. Prepare your videos
Some phone videos need converting before the orb can play them. Start by copying a short test video. If it plays, you're set. If you hear sound but see no picture, or the video doesn't play, email us and we'll help you convert it.
4. Connect the orb to your computer
Use the USB cable that came in the box. Some phone-charger cables only carry power and won't let the computer see the orb.
5. Find the orb on your computer
Windows: open File Explorer and look for a new drive under This PC.
Mac: open Finder and look for a new drive in the sidebar under Locations.
If it doesn't appear, see Troubleshooting below.
6. Copy your videos onto the orb
Drag your videos onto the orb's drive.
7. Eject it safely
Windows: right-click the drive and choose Eject.
Mac: click the eject icon next to the drive in Finder.
8. Unplug it and start playback
Unplug the orb, set it on its stand and start playback.
